In royal town Znojmo, after one year again, on Saturday 11-th. of June 2011, there has been held already fourth competition in traditional Korean martial art Taekwon-Do, organized by Czech ITF Association.
230 competitors from Czech republic, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Austria and Slovakia took part on this event. They had chance to compare their abilities and opinion both in pattern (tul) and in sparring (matsogi). Teams could compete in same disciplines. Additionally, this year also discipline for team self-defense (hoosin-sol) was categorized.
In fact, the competition started already on Friday the 10-th. In sport hall, ten students from Czech Taekwon-Do ITF Association have applied for Dan degree. They have performed in front of Secretary General Master Trevor Nicholls VIII.Dan from London, UK.
We had pleasure to welcome Master Nicholls was in Znojmo already for the fourth time. He conducted Seminar each January for last three years, where students from Europe, but also from Australia, took part.
This time, Znojmo Open was exceptional because the presence of such an important personality like The Saulabi, Master Trevor Nicholls, VIII.Dan, and also two current champions from last year world championship in Korea, namely junior world champion Sandra Livia Maduna from Croatia and double senior world champion both in pattern and sparring Silvia Farigu from Sardinia, Italy.
The course
of competition was accordingly tot the schedule. In the morning patterns were
performed, continuously with team patterns.
After lunch break, Master Matiullah Karwandgar, VII.DAN and his Slovak team provided us with amazing demonstration, which was very well accepted by competitors and spectators. In the afternoon, team self-defense discipline was performed and finally sparring individuals and teams finished the competition. At the end, winners have been awarded by Master Nicholls, Miss Farigu and Miss Maduna.
Thanks to all participants, to all who have supported this event and those who helped with successful organizing.
