The Malaysia Taekwon-Do Open Championship 2014, a Malaysia State Government official event, was successfully held on the 7th to 8th June 2014 in Kluang, Johor, Malaysia. There were over 310 participants coming from Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Nepal and Singapore joining the championship.
The Kluang Taekwon-Do Club had the pleasure to invite the following honourable guests for the championship:-
YB HAJI MD JAIS BIN SADAY, Chairman of the Johor State Education, Information, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee, Official Consultant of the Kluang Taekwon-Do Club;
Master David Lau, Master Instructor of the Malaysia ITF;
Master Daniel Sng, President and Regional Representative of Singapore INO 35;
Mr. Andy Low, Secretary of the Malaysia Taekwon-do Administrative Council;
Mr Wee Lai Der, Founder of the Kluang Taekwon-Do Club, Secretary of the Malaysia Taekwon-Do Championship 2014 Organising Committee;
Mr. Patrick Luah, Chairman of the Malaysia Taekwon-Do Championship 2014 Organising Committee; and
Mr. Lau Kai Zhong, Official Consultant of the Kluang Taekwon-Do Club;
The Championship started with matches for pattern on the 7th June, with welcome dinner following in the evening. Pins were presented to YB HAJI MD JAIS BIN SADAY and Mr. Lau Kai Zhong for their contributions to Kluang Taekwon-Do Club for the past 4 years. The next day followed with matches for sparring.
With the great support of our guests and friends coming from different divisions and different countries, the Championship acted as a key milestone of the development of Taekwon-Do in Kluang, and in the whole state of Johor. The Kluang Taekwon-Do Club would like to give special thanks to Mr. Goh Nae Guang of MO 304 for being the chief judge of the championships, and to all our honourable guests for their continue support to the development of Taekwon-Do in Malaysia.
