Food Drive 2024
17,334 pounds (7,863 kg) of food
The ITF Food Drive for 2024 was yet another success. This year a grand total of 17,335 pounds (7,863 kg) of food as well as winter coats, blankets, and $176.50 were donated to local communities and those in need. The three national groups that participated in the event and supported the ITF were the Phoenix Group (INO 78) of the USA, All India Taekwon-Do (MO 620) of India, and USITF (INO 50) of the USA. It is always reassuring to see our members step up and support the ITF in all its endeavors. As President Choi reminds us, it is our duty to give back to our communities. Participating in this event shows the world the ITF is more than just words. It is action in support of President Choi, our communities, and the ITF. Great job for all who participated.
A total of 9 Phoenix Group schools participated, donating a total of 16,181 pounds (7,340 kg) of food along with winter jackets and blankets to food pantries, shelters, and residential facilities. The most outstanding individual school was Master Jeff Hurben and his school, Midnight Sun Martial Arts Academy in Alaska, with a donation of 13,073 pounds (5,930 kg) of food.
All India Taekwon-Do donated a total of 1102 pounds (500 kg) of food (mainly rice) to RIMS Government Hospital, Ongole, which feeds poor people who accompany a patient. There is a Sai Trust which cooks and feeds poor people daily within the hospital premises as most of the patients come from Rural India. The food items that were donated will help the pantry feed people for 20 days.
USITF in the USA donated 51 pounds of food and $176.50 to the Wichita Family Crisis Center.
