BackITF President's Reflection

Thank you to all ITF members for your good wishes to the International Taekwon-Do Federation. We often say this, but I feel I must reiterate: Gen. Choi Hong Hi made and introduced to the world this wonderful art and established the ITF as a governing body. The great art of Taekwon-Do has now become a most sought after and beloved martial art anywhere. To think that this started with only one Taekwon-Do practitioner!

Even as we grew up with TKD and the ITF, it is still hard to believe that it was started by one person, Gen. Choi Hong Hi. He states that behind this achievement lies “the silent cries and tireless efforts of many instructors.” I must again thank you all, instructors who give all to promote and teach Taekwon-Do for a better world. History will remember you.

Nowadays there are those, void of morality, honor, and integrity, who abuse the honorable name of ITF for their personal gain. This is not only wrong but downright criminal. Remember that those who cheat others are grave, but those who cheat even themselves have no hope of becoming what we aim to achieve in TKD: a decent, honest human being. They confuse innocent people and muddy the water. The ITF members and I will not forget those who steal the ITF identity and, more importantly, history will not forget this too. History records the good, as well as evil, and remains... forever.
