General Choi 1918 – 2002
Dear Students of Taekwon-Do,
As I reflect on the anniversary of the death of my father, I am reminded of all that he has taught me and the legacy he has left us.
I am presently in Argentina completing seminars where I am teaching and living his legacy. Through his patterns which embody his thoughts and philosophy, he lives within me and all of us every day.
We should all be thankful to him for leaving this wonderful gift for all of us to enjoy and teach to future generations.
I heard him say many times that he was leaving Taekwon-Do for all humanity. We should all be proud and remember him as the father of Taekwon-do as we reflect on his life on, this, the sixth anniversary of his death.
We are all his children and part of the Taekwon-do family, as such, the greatest honour we can bestow on him is to continue his work in the purest way possible, the way he meant it to be through the practice of the martial art as martial artists.
I ask all of you to remember Gen. Choi through your practice of the patterns he taught us. Reflect upon his life and live the way he demanded us to live, pure of heart, relentless in our pursuit of our tenets. Taekwon!
